KEY CLIENT CONCERNS

As a large establishment RSL Lifecare, who manage multiple sized facilities, contracted Travers bushfire & ecology to manage bushfire compliance across multiple sites, each with their own DA’s and differing compliance regulations that needed updating. The key concerns were:

Both large and regional facilities with high risk bushfire exposure needing immediate attention.
Highly populated facilities with no one person or entity across all requirements for each location.
No one size fits all approach due to multiple DA’s with complex needs.
Fear of legal action due not maintaining currency and changing regulations over the history of the site.

Upon understanding the needs of the client, TBE were to able to implement the following key objectives:

To identify key bushfire risks to the existing facilities and works that would reduce risk to RSL Lifecare (legal and bushfire attack).
Identify the most important priorities for fuel management.
Collate all pre-existing DA documentation and have the status of all approvals collated for easy access for bushfire management works.
Prepare map based fire management plans allowing strategic tasks to be set, obtain budget approvals, and seek quotations.
To coordinate and liaise with site management to address community concerns
Manage the site contractors and audit the progress of works.
Review and adapt APZ management works at all RSL Lifecare facilities.
Provide justification for budget allocation.
