An exciting opportunity for a full-time Restoration Ecologist with a strength in regeneration, restoration, wetlands, threatened species habitat creation, has opened working out of our Kariong or Beresfield office, NSW.

We are seeking a ecologist with minimum science degree majoring in botanical study or Natural Area Management. Those who are passionate about plant ecology, making a diffrence and have supervision and reporting experience in the field of restoration are recommended to apply.

Key Competencies

As a restoration ecologist with Travers bushfire & ecology you will have the necessary skills and experience to undertake the following:

  • Experienced in bushland, wetland, mine site and threatened species habitat restoration.
  • Experienced in the review, auditing and documental reports for conservation agreements.
  • Expereinced in the preparation of weed management plans.
  • Experienced in Controlled Activity Approvals and riparian constraints assessment.
  • Field botanical survey using accepted industry methodologies to identify species, populations and / or vegetation communities.
  • Assist in the preparation of biodiversity offset assessments.
  • Accurately identify threatened flora and undertake competent EEC classification under the BC Act  and EPBC Act.
  • Prepare ecological assessments in accordance with the EP&A Act, the BC Act and the EPBC Ache
